5. Categories of records
5.1 Records available in terms of other legislation
Records we keep under laws such as the Companies Act, the Income Tax Act, the VAT Act, the Labour Relations Act and the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (where applicable).
5.2 Records that may be requested
- Personal information we hold about a learner (name, school, age, area, grade, assessment answers and results);
- Records of consent given;
- Correspondence with the requester;
- Company records, where lawfully accessible.
5.3 Records automatically available
This manual, our Privacy Policy and related notices are freely available on our website.
6. How to request a record
- Complete the prescribed PAIA request form (Form 2 of the PAIA Regulations).
- Send it to the Information Officer at paia@vulacareers.co.za.
- Provide enough detail to identify the record, the requester, and the form of access required.
- If the request is made on behalf of someone else, provide proof of authority. A parent/guardian may request a child's records.
- We will respond within 30 days (which may be extended as allowed by PAIA).
7. Fees
Prescribed PAIA fees may apply (a request fee and an access fee), in line with the PAIA Regulations. We will advise the applicable fees before processing. [Set out your fee approach or link the prescribed schedule.]
8. Grounds for refusal
Access may be refused on the grounds set out in PAIA, including the mandatory protection of the privacy of a third party, commercial information, and other statutory grounds.
9. Remedies
If a request is refused, the requester may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator, or apply to a competent court, as provided for in PAIA.
